The SureMech Digital Auto-mechanic  platform was unveiled in Owerri, Imo State capital, on June 19, 2025, courtesy of the Ministry of Trade, Commerce, and Investment. The digital platform aims to  revolutionize auto repairs in Imo State by connecting customers (car owners) with accredited professional Automobile Technicians across Imo State cities 24/7.

SureMech Company Lagos, affiliated with its German subsidiaries, is presently actively involved in digital technology transfers leveraging digital innovation. According to the Chief Executive Officer of SureMech Ltd Lagos, Engr Samuel Damilola Akhigbe, Imo State presents a flourishing digital haven necessitating its choice to serve as a pilot State for the investment. 

The SureMech Digital Automobile Platform operates similarly to the ride-hailing services like Uber and Bolt, but focuses on on-the-go auto mechanic repairs.

The platform offers reliable, safe, and secured auto repair services, ensuring that customers' vehicles are in good hands given the advanced auto repair diagnostic technologies on offer.

To that effect, as a way to popularize this innovation and unveil the digital platform, SureMech shall progressively provide  training and up-skilling opportunities for Automobile Technicians, aiming to revolutionize the industry in select digital-savvy States in Nigeria, hence Imo State.

The Commissioner for Commerce, Trade and Investment, Chief Barr Rex Anunobi (Sokom), who has been mediating between SUREMECH Ltd Lagos and the Imo State chapter of Nigeria Automobile Technicians Association (N.A.T.A), during a one-day eye-tearing seminar, encouraged members of NATA to maximize the opportunity made possible by the good digital atmosphere of the State.

The cardinal Moto of SureMech Digital Platform which provides a digital app for a compact management flexibility is "Never Get Stranded", reflecting the platform's goal of providing timely and efficient auto repair services. This implies that Automobile Technicians of Imo State extraction are to be involved in the innovative service delivery with the positive economic implications to their favour.

The benefits acruable from the novel innovation encompasses convenience, efficiency and reliability. Customers can book repair/service appointments online through the SureMech Digital app, track mechanic arrivals, and manage car maintenance history through the user-friendly app. Besides, SureMech vets and evaluates mechanics before allowing them to work with customers, ensuring high-quality services with no hidden charges.

Expressing  satisfaction with the unveiled modus operandi of SureMech Digital Automobile Platform, members of Imo State chapter of Nigeria Automobile Technicians Association (N.A.T.A) and the primary stakeholders in the sector, who participated in the one-day seminar, thanked the Ministry of Commerce, Trade and Investment for availing them a platform that shall increase their professional efficiency, add benefits to their craft and stimulate Imo economy. 

The facilitator, Engr Kelechi Ogubunka, who is a personal aide to the Chief of Staff, Barr Sir Nnamdi Anyaehie, also assured the Digital technology consortium of a fertile ground in Imo State fit to make their investments worthwhile, a position which the Technical Assistant to the Honourable Commissioner for Commerce, Trade and Investment, Chief Basil Iwu agreed with.
