THE ODDS AGAINST "CATECHIST" MACDONALD EBERE, PhD:

Despite the conceited overt and covert posturing as the  "anointed successor" to Gov Hope Uzodimma, many odds aggregate against Dr MacDonald Ebere - the "past-present" Chairman of Imo All Progressive Congress Chapter, in achieving the ticket of the APC for the 2027 gubernatorial election.

Despite the sustained pride and arrogance that have trailed his carriage as the Governor's inlaw, the odds mount around his emergence. These are true aggregated reasons he stands no chance.

The 2027 succession plan of the Governor might not yet be obvious, but it is most improbable that Gov Hope Uzodimma will attempt to toe the line of familiocracy, having fought against same in 2019 when the Ex-Governor Rochas Okorocha attempted to foist his son-in-law on Imo people.

Son-in-law or brother-in-law or even an inlaw, inlaw is inlaw and the nepotism they carry is one and the same. That's familiocratic nepotism already rejected by Imo people long ago.

Beyond the ideological summersault that the MacDonald Ebere option might present against his emergence, the haughtiness, ego and arrogance of the object is yet another source of quagmire against the project. He portends an air of arrogance that surely may "fubaraize" mentorship and plunge Imo into the Rivers State quagmire.

MacDonald Ebere, PhD might be qualified to govern on educational basis, but his Politics and public-human relations is a no-no. He is unmarketable at home and even away from home. His exuberance and morality are yet other chapters that should not occur in a power transition equation.

Mac is so disadvantaged that he might not win the Governorship election even if the exercise were to be reduced to a kindred election. He is seen in his Nwodo Street (Amawom) axis as "a lord over all" and the "cock that must crow alone". For ample evidence, ask Ndaa Willie Amadi, whom he serially unconstitutionally suspended; Hon Amanze Njamanze, whom he also unconstitutionally suspended despite being an SA to the Governor; his former Personal Secretary, whom he frustrated after being lured to resign from her well-paid job; et cetera.

Macdonald's political repugnance was eloquently demonstrated in the last election where he did not only lose in his own booth and Ward, but failed to deliver his House of Assembly seat, even as the State Chairman of the ruling Political Party - the APC. And also despite the huge amount of financial war-chest (logistics) made available for the election. He was roundly rejected like a political leper. He resorted to violence which made it impossible for his Booth and Ward election's results to count!

Even last month, in his own kindred election of the Youth Leader, his candidate lost woefully despite the fact that he used his fiercest weapon -  the Tiger Base, locking the eventual winner and trying without success to overturn the outcome.

Therefore, these serial political losses were not without causes. 

The incumbent Governor of Imo State, His Excellency Dist Sen Hope Uzodimma, has so distinguished himself as a Governor who has generated so much political goodwill with his work outputs. He requires a good successor that should be agreeable to the simple majority of Imo people, at least. He does not need a bad energy, a political liability and an unmarketable, proud, petty, little-minded, vindictive political microbe that thinks himself an elephant.

Come what may, the 2027 Imo Gubernatorial election shall be a keenly contested election to make or mar Imo State. Governor Hope Uzodimma is wise enough and knows even more details around the succession Politics to risk handing his Party's ticket to MacDonald Ebere, PhD.
