The Imo State 3R Government of Shared Prosperity is set to partner with Sure-Mech Nigeria Ltd to launch a digital platform that will transform the auto repair industry in the state. As a result, the Hon Commissioner for Trade, Commerce and Investment, Hon Barr Rex Anunobi (Sokom) mandated his Ministry's Permanent Secretary, Mrs Orji Ebere C and his Technical Adviser, Sir Basil Iwu, to host the top Management Team of Sure-Mech Technical Group led by Engr Samuel Damilola Akhigbe at the Ministry today, Tuesday, 6th May, 2025. Engr Kelechi Ogubunka from Ngor Okpalla , the P.A to the Chief of Staff, Imo State Government House, introduced the Sure-Mech to Imo State Ministry of Trade, Commerce and Investment, informing them of the rich human resource base of the State.
This digitally innovative initiative aims at the following:
1. Youth Engagement: Providing tuition-free training for young people in auto mechanics, equipping them with skills to secure jobs or start their own businesses.
2. Job Creation: Establishing a job engagement platform that connects trained mechanics with potential employers, creating employment opportunities and stimulating economic growth.
3. Digital Viability: Imo State today boasts of the necessary human resource base competent in digital education. This innovation aims to further develop a digital hub that showcases Imo State's innovative spirit, making it an attractive destination for investment and entrepreneurship.
Benefits acruable from this digital package include the following:
1. Youths Empowerment: Equipping young people with in-demand skills, enhancing their employability and entrepreneurial prospects.
2. Economic Growth: Creating jobs, stimulating innovation, and attracting investment in the auto repair industry.
3. Imo State's Digital Future: This is to position the state as a hub for digital innovation, driving economic development and growth.
The partnership between the Imo State Government and Sure-Mech Technical Team will involve:
1. Memorandum of Understanding: A coordinating MoU will be signed to outline the terms of the partnership.
2. Training and Job Placement: Sure-Mech Academy will provide free online and hands-on training for mechanics, with a focus on major car brands.
3. Government Backing: The partnership will have stringent government backing, authorization, and support.
