Today, 27/05/2025, during Plenary, Rt. Honourable Amara Chyna Iwuanyanwu, the Deputy Speaker of Imo State House of Assembly and Member Representing Nwangele State Constituency, presented a Bill aimed at repealing the existing Imo State Lands Administration and Geographic Information Service (Establishment) Law No. 3 of 2022.
The proposed legislation seeks to technologize the State's Land Management by providing for the Automation and Digitalization of the Imo State Lands Registry. This is expected to enhance the Efficiency and Accessibility of Land records, and make administrative processes easier and more effective, while at the same time promoting transparency in all land transactions in the State. The Bill reflects a commitment to leveraging technology for improved governance and service delivery in Imo State.
It successfully Passed its First Reading.
